The School of Computing(SoC) Freshmen Orientation Camp(FOC) is a 4 days 3 nights project planned to allow incoming undergraduates to familiarize themselves with school grounds, get to experience our school’s culture prior to the actual school term and foster friendships with their fellow faculty mates through the exciting games planned for them.

How and when will I know that I am accepted as an FOC participant?

Upon successful registration, you should receive a confirmation email from us within 5 days. Should you not receive any email from us after 5 days :shock: , please contact Kimberly(kan@nus.edu.sg) or Justin (justin.quak@nus.edu.sg) for clarification.

Also, as the date draws nearer to the camp, your Orientation Group Leader (OGL) will contact you by phone or email. Please ensure that you provide a valid contact number and email during registration.

Will it be a problem if I am going for the camp alone?

Nope! The key objective of camp is for you to foster friendships with your potential classmates and get to know your seniors. There is bound to be freshmen coming alone every year, so no worries!

Where do I pay the camp fees and what else must I bring?

We will be collection payment on the 8th & 13th of June @ Raffles City Shopping Centre (City Hall MRT Station) between 10am – 6pm.
We will update you via email/mobile of the exact location.

Please bring along the camp fees - $45 dollars ( :arrow: Cash only)

If I can’t make payment on the above 2 dates, is there another alternative?

You can transfer the money (I-bank) to our representative Yi Hong.
Please contact her via email (jessicalee_88@hotmail.com) should you happen to be in that situation asap.

Your I-bank payment should be done by 13th June too.


What do I need to prepare for the camp?

An email will be sent to you regarding what to bring at least one week before the camp. The group leaders will ensure that you are well prepared for the camp :D

Please bring along your COMPLETED indemnity form (VERY IMPORTANT :!: ) which will be emailed to you soon.

Will there be any activity that involves swimming? I’m not too good a swimmer.

No actual swimming will be involved, but there will be wet games planned.

I’m a vegetarian. Will there be vegetarian/halal food available during the camp?

Yes. We will be providing Halal, Non-Halal and Vegetarian food during camp.
Please indicate which type you prefer in the online registration form (http://compclub.ddns.comp.nus.edu.sg/fop09/fopregistration/).

Do inform your group leader when he/she calls if you have indicated wrongly.
